Quick step guide

Looking through a bookshop the other day I saw they had a "quick step guide" to MS PowerPoint 2007, 300 pages does not a quick guide make...

I think the problem with things like this are that most customers will think that they are getting a raw deal unless they get a huge wad of paper for their money, despite the fact is is unnecessarily long and they wont read/understand it, and I also think that most publishers would refuse to publish a 15 page guide even if it was better for the job.
